Dataplex Announces $100M Commitment to Develop High-Technology and Industrial Campuses Across Europe

  • Chirisa Investments and Kilon Holdings welcome DAMAC Group as new shareholder
  • Strong pipeline of new facilities under development across underserved European locations
  • Commitment to continued focus on clean and sustainably powered facilities

Dataplex Group Limited (“Dataplex” or the “Company”) today announced a significant new equity investment from DAMAC, a multi-billion-dollar Dubai-based investment company.  The new investment will be used to grow the Dataplex team and expand in new markets across Europe, in addition to supporting the development of the Company’s existing pipeline of sustainably developed high-technology facilities.

Dataplex recently commenced the planning process on a new campus in Abbotstown, North West Dublin.  The new campus is in a prime location, being directly connected to the carrier dense T-50 fibre network, and is in close proximity to Dublin Airport.  The campus is being developed with the green credentials of the Company and its customers in mind.  The site will accommodate a number of sustainable data centre facilities together with a light industrial and logistics park.

“Dataplex is a pioneer in the development of sustainable data centre projects, having previously worked with major hyperscale and telecoms customers on green data centre design and implementation,” said Eddie Kilbane, Dataplex CEO.  “By retrofitting existing facilities and leveraging our leading edge technical design credentials, we help customers reduce their carbon footprint and meet the exponentially growing demands of the digital economy in a sustainable way.”

As a contributing member of the Open Compute Project, Dataplex’s technology is deeply embedded in the infrastructure that enables the Internet, cloud computing and social and media networks.
